Bébé Stobart was conceived on Joel and Viktoria’s Wedding night; the 5th September 2009 and Viktoria had an inkling that she was pregnant as early as the 13th September, it wasn’t until the 29th September that they had their first positive pregnancy test.

Joel and Viktoria’s first glimpse of Bébé was on the 4th November at their initial appointment at 10 weeks. The little tyke was very strong and healthy and was booked in for a 12 week scan to take measurements and have all the tests under the sun taken.

Viktoria and Joel excitedly went to the hospital on the 17th November for the 12 week scan and saw Bébé in all his glory and in high def! He was given an excellent bill of health and booked in for a 16 week midwife appointment.

Viktoria went to the hospital on her own for the 16 week midwife appointment on the 9th December and got to see little Bébé once again. How he’d grown since his 12 week scan! :0)

Bébé Stobart’s next scan was on the 4th January 2010 at 19 weeks, he had doubled in size since his 12 week scan and you could clearly see all his fingers and toes. A 20 week sexing scan was booked for the 13th January.

Joel and Viktoria could hardly contain themselves on the way to the hospital, with the anticipation of finding out the sex of the little one, they thought they would burst. There was a slight problem once they reached the hospital, they had been booked in to see the Midwife, again, and not to see the Sonographer. Although they got to see Bébé once again, they were still none the wiser of the sex. Although on the prehistoric ultrasound machine the Midwfie had, you could clearly make out their eyes, nose and mouth – what a looker! Another scan was booked for the 26th January at 11.30am.

The two weeks passed and it felt like an absolute age, only for them to have to wait a little while longer. The receptionist who booked the appointment had said in English that it was at 11.30, but got 11 and 13 mixed up, so Joel had to return to work and Viktoria stayed the 2 extra hours at the hospital and waited to see their little one, once again.

After what felt like another age, 13.30 arrived and Viktoria was called into see the Sonographer. This time not only did she get to see the little miracle that Bébé Stobart is, she got to see him in 3D/4D! She was so upset that Joel couldn’t see Bébe’s winkie and be there for the unveiling of the sex. Bébé is measured and weighed at this appointment. He weighed 432 grams or just under 1lb and measured either 24cm or 28cm crown to heel.

At 22 weeks they finally find out that Bébé Stobart is a boy – let the shopping commence!

Viktoria was booked in for another Midwife appointment at 23 weeks on the 4th February, her Fundus was measured; 23cm – Fundal measurements are taken at every appointment after 20/22 weeks, the measurement in centimetres usually corresponds to the current weeks in gestation – So all is well with the pregnancy and Bébé Stobart is growing well.

Joel and Viktoria had a 3D scan for the 14th February in Taplow, Berkshire.  It was the first scan that NouNou Lindy and Unkie Rich had seen.  They were amazed with the technology and how clear the images were. Unfortunately Bébé was hiding up by Viktoria’s ribs and they have been invited back for another scan on the 7th March for some better pictures. Bébe Stobart weighed in at 737 grams or 1Lb 10Oz at this appointment.

Viktoria had another Midwife appointment on the 22nd February, this might be the last ‘medical’ scan she has until Bébé is born. All is well with Pingu and he’s kicking away for most of the day now.  Fundus measured 27cm at 26 weeks.
